ABOUT MYSELF
I discover Manuel Antonio 31 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. DonMelton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided tomake Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groupsincluding National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in ManuelAntonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active incivic and conservations groups to date. We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). My gift shop LA BUENA NOTA was founded in 1980 and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.

LA BUENA NOTA BEACHWEAR AND GIFT SHOP
My gift shop LA BUENA NOTA was founded 25 years ago. It was the first in the area and originally found in downtown Quepos. We are now in our own air conditioned location in Manuel Antonio 300 yards or meters before the National Park on the main road. We have the most complete selection of beachwear and souvenirs in the area. We try to have a good selection of whatever a traveller might need incuding a large stock of used books and daily newspapers. Our selection of natural history and guide books is one of the best outside of San Jose. My bi-lingual staff is friendly and if we don't have what you need they or myself will try and help you find it. We can also help you make tour or travel arrangements.
